2ND PRICE
The Orenplatte rises 800 meters above the Glarus valley floor. At its center, a circular wooden stage forms a architectural landmark. The six-meter platform, slightly elevated and paired with a folding counterpart, functions both as an open platform and as an acoustically protected space. It serves many roles: a resting spot, a picnic place, a playground, a meeting point — and a stage for concerts of the highest quality.
Built from local spruce, the stage features rough-sawn surfaces sealed with silicate paint. This treatment protects the structure and highlights its sculptural, abstract character. For unamplified performances, the foldable back wall (45°–90°) directs sound toward the audience. Overlapping cladding boards scatter sound waves, creating a natural and full acoustic experience.
